The AT2040 Portable Vibration Tester is specifically designed to calibrate and verify the operating conditions of accelerometers and vibrometers, while simplifying the installation of vibration systems. The AT2040 has direct signal inputs for IEPE, charge (piezoelectric), 4-20mA transmitters, coils, and proximity probe sensors. It can also power sensors using onboard positive and negative variable voltage sources. This includes voltage sources for 4-20mA transmitters, Bently Nevada® powered sensors, power supplies for proximity probe drivers, and adjustable output power for popular aerospace sensors such as Wilcoxon®, Honeywell®, Aces®, and Chadwick-Helmuth®. Integrated signal simulators and function generators streamline end-to-end analyzer and system testing. The artificial probe signal can operate over a much wider amplitude range and is much more accurate than using an electrodynamic shaker and accelerometer setup. The AT2040's superior accuracy is ensured by using a laser-calibrated master reference, a precision quartz reference accelerometer, and closed-loop control using a distortion compensation algorithm. FOUR TESTING METHODS TO CHOOSE FROM
1. SHAKE
Mode one is a “shake” operation where the PVC acts as a simple shake table. This is useful for performing end-to-end testing or other vibration tests where the sensitivity of an accelerometer is not required.
2. SIMULATOR
The third main mode of operation is the “simulation” mode. The simulation mode is similar to the “shake” mode, but a function generator is used instead of an electrodynamic shaker. The advantages of using the simulation mode to perform vibration testing are numerous. The simulator is more accurate and operates over a wider range because it is not bound by the mechanical limitations of the electrodynamic shaker.
3. SENSOR SENSITIVITY TEST
The second mode to select is the “test” mode which displays the sensitivity readings of the accelerometer or proximity probe. These readings can be taken in either manual or fully automatic mode. When performing a sensitivity test in fully automatic mode, a PDF calibration certificate is also generated by the AT-2040 handheld vibration calibrator.
4. Bearing Fault Mode
This mode shakes the device in a waveform to simulate bearing faults. Bearing Fault Mode is available in both simulation and shake modes. This mode is used to test pulse or impact signals on the transducer or data acquisition system. The shaker will emit a pulse followed by a buzzer. These pulses are adjustable in amplitude, frequency, and pulse interval.
